G. Zephaniah Peter

Born in Bombay and brought up in a Christian family. He spent his first 14 years in Mumbai. His maternal grandfather was a missionary Pastor for the American Baptist Mission in Burma(Myanmar) during WW2.

ZP lost his mother when he was only 14 and hence his father brought him to Hyderabad. He studied in Methodist Boys School. When 16 he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour and Lord on September 26, 1973. While in 10th class he received the Call of God for ministry but ignored it as he was too young. After completing Intermediate in Wesley Junior College, Secunderabad, his father wanted him to join Merchant Navy so he went back to Mumbai but was not selected. Later his father wanted him get into Hotel profession since there were many job opportunities in the Middle East. In 1980 he was trained as a professional Steward (Waiter) by a Catering Institute which was sending people to Middle East for lucrative careers. He even worked in a Hotel in Mumbai to gain some experience. After being selected he was getting ready to fly to Dubai to join a Hotel, but God had other plans and changed the course of his life.

In June 1981 ZP committed his life for full time ministry and went to Madras to study Theology in Hindustan Bible Institute. After successfully completing B.Th he went on to complete Bachelor of Divinity (B.D) in Leonard Theological College, Jabalpur, MP in 1986. While waiting for Lord’s direction, God guided ZP to join Friends Missionary Prayer Band (FMPB), a missionary Organisation.

He worked in Friends Missionary Prayer Band from 1986 to 1999 promoting missionary vision, teaching Mission & Evangelism. He was State Coordinator from 1991-99. In 1999 the Lord led him to join Bible League International, a USA based multinational mission Organization.
