TCF – Gifts and Talents Inventory

Denver Colorado Telugu Church Fellowship Bible Study

1. Overview

The purpose of this post is to collect information on the various gifts, talents, skills, interests, passions of the members of the TCF family (or new members wanting to be part of TCF fellowship) – so that we may deploy them to further the mission that Jesus gave us.

Please read the instructions and submit the form using the link provided at the end.

2. Being Good Stewards

As we build the TCF family together, a key component is that each of us plays a significant role in the body of Christ. God gives us spiritual gifts, natural talents, strengths, skills, and a passion for doing and participating in certain things. Collectively, we are a mixture of various spiritual gifts, skills, talents, and professions.

“As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.” – 1 Peter 4:10

A steward is someone responsible to manage well. Our gifts and talents are given to us not to get popular or make money but to serve other people. We need to be good stewards of the gifts and God’s grace in various forms.

Everything that we do is for God’s glory. Jesus summed up the entire law as ‘Love God .. Love neighbor’. We ought to use our gifts for God’s glory. We ought to minister/serve one another using our gifts.

3. Impacting Lives

In Jesus’ own words, “the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many” – Matthew 20:28

It is about impacting lives – our own as well as others. Serving one another is the body of Christ is a Biblical mandate. It is an opportunity to:

  • express our deeply held values as followers of Jesus
  • to learn and practice new knowledge and skills
  • build relationships by participating with friends/family in meaningful activities
  • selfless love/service as a visible model for children
  • children’s education and skills development
  • or even gain the skills necessary for career

Time is a major concern for most of us, but most work can be done as short term assignments. We can have training sessions for knowledge and skills that one is interested in. We can utilize childcare and/or transportation of those who can provide such a service.
